Set networking parameters

• Set a static IP address for your server.

sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces

and edit the lines to resemble:

# iface eth0 inet dhcp
#
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.99
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.0.0
broadcast 192.168.0.255
gateway 192.168.0.1

and restart networking:

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
