This document provides instructions on how to import Microsoft Office document templates into OpenOffice.

  1. Open any of the OpenOffice applications
  2. Click File -> New -> Templates and Documents
  3. Click Organize and select My Templates
  4. Click Commands -> Import Template and browse to the location of the template
  5. Select All files (*.*) from the Files of Type option list
  6. Select the template and click Open. This will import the template into your My Templates directory

Note: Some complicated templates may not display correctly in OpenOffice due to small incompatibilities between OpenOffice and Microsoft Office. However, most templates should be usable.
