GnuCash Personal Finance Manager

Gnu``Cash is a free personal and small-business financial-accounting software that implements a double-entry bookkeeping system. It has the ability to manage your money and accounts for a variety of financial needs ranging from personal checking account, to mutual funds, retirement accounts, home loan, business accounts, and even spousal income. It was initially aimed at developing capabilities similar to Intuit, Inc.'s Quicken application, but also has features for small business accounting.

Installation

• Via Synaptic Package Manager
• Go to the menu System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager
• In the search field type: gnucash

• Click on the box to the left of the gnucash-common' and select Mark For Installation. Synaptic will automatically select two more packages that you need gnucash and gnucash-docs. Select Apply
• A window will appear showing you the changes you are about to commit. It is always a good idea to look at this screen and double check your selections. Select 'Apply
• A progress bar will come up showing you your progress as they download. Another bar will come up after that as the packages are installed. When these are done you will get a screen telling you that the Changes have completed successfully. Select 'Close
• Close Synaptic Package Manager
• You should now see Gnu```Cash Finance Management in the Applications -> Office menu.
• Via apt-get
• Open Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal and type.

sudo apt-get install gnucash
