To install the Sun Java 6 web browser plugin, simply install the package:
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-plugin
Also, the sun-java6-plugin package breaks when using it with Firefox-2 in Ubuntu Hardy. It's easy to fix, however:
sudo ln -s /etc/alternatives/xulrunner-1.9-javaplugin.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins
