-- ubuntu-doc-technomensch <<DateTime>>: This revamped page really helped me out. I was cleaning up the community docs home page and saw that Software article, which was kinda pointless. I agree that this should be a major jumping off point for Application research, so I made that page redirect here instead. -- duncan-lithgow <<DateTime(2008-08-08T21:04:06+0200)>> I think it's a left over from my original purge of this page that this is still in Delete. So I'm removing that tag. AllanDay: I think it's great to have a place where people can write about their favourite applications and recommend them to other people. I just don't think that this is the best place to do it! 'Applications' is a very generic term, and this might be one of the first pages newcomers to the wiki see. I think it is important for this page to reflect the needs and interests of those users. If no one objects, I'll set up a new RecommendedApplications page (or maybe CommunityRecommendedApplications?) and move the 'Best of the Rest' material there. That way we can develop this page into something more tailored to new users and also have a dedicated place for recommendations. (2008/07/01) 2008-07-23, Duncan Lithgow: I've created a project page to use for discussion on improving pages like this one: Application Documentation Project 2008-07-23, Hellow: I created a stub entry for the home folder to help get that section jump-started in development. AllanDay: I've restored the Applications page and given it a fairly thorough rewrite. As a result, I've also restored this discussion page. The material that these pages are based on has also been used to seed the work being done on Software and Software/PageDiscussion. (2008/08/01)
